On the afternoon of February 25, the Language and Culture Center and New Zealand Xinhua Education Chinese School held a signing ceremony in the cloud.
Ms. Ren Xiaofei, Dean of the College of Arts and the Director of the Language and Culture Center, gave a brief introduction to the College of Arts (Language and Culture Center) from the aspects of business overview, talent cultivation, cultural practice and cooperation vision. Ms. Zhuang Xueling, principal of New Zealand Xinhua Education Chinese School, also introduced the development of Chinese language education in the school and the honors it has won in recent years. Qu Yunjin, secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Arts, said in his speech that the signing of the contract heralds a good start for the cooperation between the two sides, hoping that both sides will strengthen communication and exchanges, give full play to their respective advantages, and jointly promote the development of overseas Chinese language education. Jiang Yonghua, deputy dean of the School of Arts and the deputy director of the Language and Culture Center, presided over the signing ceremony. Representatives of teachers from both sides witnessed this important moment.
New Zealand Xinhua Education Chinese School is a Chinese school with a history of more than 20 years. It has made good achievements in promoting Chinese education and carrying forward the fine traditions of Chinese culture in New Zealand. The school was selected as an advanced unit of Chinese language education by the Chinese Language Education Institute in 2013 and 2015, and awarded the "Outstanding Award for Chinese Language Education" by the Chinese Consulate General in Auckland. The signing of the contract between the Language and Culture Center and the university is not only one of the series work of "100 Chinese schools joining hands in the cloud " in Jiangsu Province, but also will further promote the understanding and communication between the language and Culture Center and overseas Chinese schools, and promote their own Chinese education.
The activity of 100 Chinese schools joining hands in the cloud is an important measure taken by the United Front Work Department of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education to fully implement the document spirit of the Central Committee on strengthening overseas Chinese education and promote the high-quality development of overseas Chinese education. The province has selected more than 100 colleges and universities to establish long-term friendly cooperation with more than 100 overseas Chinese schools. New Zealand Xinhua Education Chinese School is the second overseas Chinese school to sign a contract with our Language and Culture Center after the Chinese Education Counseling Center in Botswana, Africa.
